Leroy Neiman is an American artist, born in 1921 and died in 2012. During the Second World War, Leroy Neiman was old enough to serve his country and joined the army until 1956. It was after his Military service  that Leroy Neiman studied art. Leroy Neiman did a course at St-Paul School of Art to begin with, before joining the art institute of Chicago and teaching.

His art stands out through its sparkling and bright colors, his painting is expressionist and semi-abstract. In 1954, Leroy Neiman put his talent at the disposal of Playboy magazine and produced a number of creations. Neiman began a world tour in 1960 during which he soaked in sporty and entertaining images, which he came across.

Sports events became his favorite theme. He covered several international events such as the Olympic games, Super bowl or the Wimbledon. Leroy Neiman was also fascinated by the nocturnal life and depicted the universe of casinos and the jazzy atmospheres. He created several silkscreen paintings and they became famous.

Today, the artist's work is presented in museums around the world, from hermitage in Russia and the Fine Arts Museum in Boston, not to mention the Brooklyn museum.
