In her book “Post-War Art of Ecole de Paris” Lise Cormery, Michelangelo, Paris, 2020, writes his biography
“Yvon Prével (1943-2002) is a French artist, painter and sculptor of bas-relief woven in hessian, listed in the Bénézit Encyclopedia of painting.
From 1968 to 1975, he was the painter of abstract geometry with his inks and pastels. In the spirit of Nevelson, if Vera Szekely creates her sublime boxes with wood, Klamerus with sisal, Prevel from 1975 until 1993 creates volumes or bas-reliefs with sculpted textiles and wood, nailed, glued and painted boxes. The art critic Pierre Brisset describes his work as "unclassifiable", " paintings, bas-reliefs, textile sculptures, thick canvases.
Pierre Restany, art critic in 'The Eternal Wandering of the Gaze' for his 1986 exhibition at the Galerie l'œil Dense in Paris, writes: 'Prevel, this sober and restrained painting is the painting of the gaze.
Prevel exhibited in numerous national and international galleries and museums, including in 1971 Galerie Birkdam, Copenhagen, Denmark 1972 Galerie du Haut Pavé, Paris 1974 Galerie du Lion, Place des Vosges, Paris 1981 Lynn Kottler Galleries, 33 E, 65th Street, New York, USA 1983 Galerie Muck, Bienne, Switzerland 1987 Galerie Diva, Versoix, Geneva, Switzerland Galerie L'Oeil Dense, Paris 1989 1990 Galerie Lainé, Gordes PARIS ART OLYMPIADS Galerie Lise Cormery In 1991 and 1992, under the High Patronage of French President Mitterrand and Jacques Chirac, Mayor of Paris, the artist was selected to represent his country during the Art Olympiads organized by Lise Cormery Gallery for the CNOSF, French Olympic Committee. This international event was following the famous 1988 Art Olympiads in Seoul, South Korea, where a monumental sculptures Museum in open air and a Museum of International paintings was created for the world competition, in order to invite and show the art of major international artists of the 20th Century. 1996 Galerie Alain Selmersheim, Paris, 1997 1998 Galerie du Square Louvois, Paris, 1997 Museum of Fine Arts, Jinan, China.
Yvon Prével is in Encyclopédie Bénézit
« Le regard ou L'Oeil de Dieu » "The Look" or "Thee God Eye" by Prével 1986, was exhibited in Galerie L'oeil dense, Paris in 1986. Pierre Restany wrote a text at this occasion, texts had to be financed by the artist while the famous international art critic Pierre BRISSET, art collector and journalist, in "L'Oeil" Magazine wrote art critic texts without payment, but according to the quality of the art research." Yvon Prével

France  • 1943

Yvon Prével (1943-2002) is a French artist, painter and sculptor of bas-relief woven in hessian, listed in the Bénézit Encyclopedia of painting.

From 1968 to 1975, he was the painter of abstract geometry with his inks and pastels. From 1975 to 1993 his painting became volumes or bas-reliefs in burlap, sculpted, nailed, glued, frayed, pleated, and painted. If Vera Szekely is confronted with wood, Klamerus with sisal, Prevel digs the furrow of creation with the bas-relief in jute stretched on wood. The art critic Pierre Brisset describes his work as "unclassifiable", "a work of which the pictures are neither quite paintings nor quite reliefs of thick canvases".

Pierre Restany, art critic in 'The Eternal Wandering of the Gaze' for his 1986 exhibition at the Galerie l'œil Dense in Paris, writes: 'Prevel, this sober and restrained painting is the painting of the gaze. "'He exhibited in numerous national and international galleries and museums, including in 1971 Galerie Birkdam, Copenhagen, Denmark 1972 Galerie du Haut Pavé, Paris 1974 Galerie du Lion, Place des Vosges, Paris 1981 Lynn Kottler Galleries, 33 E, 65th Street, New York, USA 1983 Galerie Muck, Bienne, Switzerland 1987 Galerie Diva, Versoix, Geneva, Switzerland Galerie l'Oeil Dense, Paris 1989 1990 Galerie Lainé, Gordes 1996 Galerie Alain Selmersheim, Paris, 1997 1998 Galerie du Square Louvois, Paris, 1997 Museum of Fine Arts, Jinan, China.
