Biography
Muluymuluy Wirrpanda is an Australian Aboriginal artist of the Dhudi-Djapu people, born in 1959 in Ngukurr, Arnhem Land. She is part of the Buku-Larrnggay Aboriginal Artists Cooperative, in Yirrkala, northeast Arnhem Land. Her father is Molulmi. She was the young wife of Wakuthi Marawili, one of the oldest men in Arnhem Land. Known as Banbay, "the blind man," due to his poor eyesight, he died in 2005. Her sons, Djambawa and Nuwandjali, play an important role in the day-to-day management of the Madarrpa clan's vast territory, Yilpara. Muluymuluy works with them to produce important Madarrpa clan works. Her sister, Mulkun Wirrpanda, is also a prominent artist.
