“In life, Paris is my universe. In my art, I find my raw material and my inspiration there. From neighborhood to neighborhood, from street to street, I steal her colors so that she is the one who tells the stories and emotions that I want to share"

Cléo is 47 years old and has always lived in the heart of Paris.

She studied at an engineering school, then at HEC.

She has always practiced the art of collage, in all its fields: abstract, vintage, or even minimalist, and it is her permanent quest for authenticity that naturally led her to find her way through the art of collage. torn posters, which she has been practicing for 10 years now.

Inspired by the compositions of Jacques Villeglé, Cléo nevertheless approaches the collage of posters in a completely different spirit than that of the “anonymous lacerator". She considers the discovery, selection, and tearing of posters to be the first creative step in her collage. She regularly walks the streets and takes off what Paris gives her: faces, typography, flat areas to work on...

The authenticity and uniqueness of Cléo's collages can be explained by the specific work required for each of her compositions. Her collages must adapt to the raw material she has collected, and to her experience: the quality of the paper of the poster, the number of days, weeks... spent plastered on a Parisian wall, its texture transformed by the cement encrustation, its relief altered by successive layers of glue, its fragility and its cracks resulting from bad weather. Cléo improvises with what the reality of the city and its streets brings her.

Cléo's paintings don't just tell a story or convey an emotion.
They are not just a showcase for the streets of Paris.
But Cléo uses Paris as the storyteller of a life story.
