Donald Laborie is a French sculptor born in Paris in 1963.
Donald is a self taught artist although he comes from a family that is involved in the wold of art, being themselves art lovers and collectors. From an early age he was taught the fundamentals of modern sculpture, his work is inspired by the works of Zadkine and Archipenko.
He lived in New Work for two years, where he discovered the pieces of Basquiat and contemporary sculpture. It was a meeting with a Russian art dealer which gave him the opportunity to travel and to connect with personalities from the world of art.
Donalds' works can be defined as semi figurative, oscillating between post-cubism and abstraction. In 1996, he finally returned to Paris, where he continued his personal researches on sculpture and he turned towards a more simplified form with a purified approach.
Lately his method has evolved, Donald has tried more techniques and shapes.The last years 16 years has been a period specially productive for the artist.
