Presentation

I first met Manat in 2009 near El Mezquital on the eastern coast of Mexico, as part of a professional project addressing animal behavioralism. He had embarked a year earlier on a Guatemalan freighter, the Daisy Tits. His goal was simple: to study an ancient occult belief in extreme asceticism. Far from his native France, he only had a toothbrush handle and a sketchbook.

With hindsight, I think that our meeting was inevitable, his physical appearance was however the most disgusting, a long coarse beard hung over a purplish mouth from the absorption of too large a quantity of leeches and Mexican mosquitoes. His eyes were bulging, swollen from lack of sleep and long nights of thinking. His walk was like the injured zebra, the fruit of his non-existent musculature.

No, this man no longer had his place in a civilized society.

His faith was based on a writing dated from the 7th century, relating the existence of a primate apostle: Babouïnism. It was sheer madness to believe such nonsense. After a quick check of authenticity, I noticed that the document in question was written on Canson sheets. But the mad monk was convinced that he held a disturbing truth that could shake the religious thoughts of much of humanity. We decided to come back to France as quickly as possible to spread our still marginal devotion.

The means of spreading this concept was obvious: Traditional Art. His obvious illiteracy could not have launched a literary career anyway. Only the diplomas were missing, since an old belief associates them with talent. My relations in National Education and in INMAP (Institute of Art and Precarious Trades) were going to open the right doors. Manat therefore holds a falsified diploma from the Beaux Arts de Montpellier, a counterfeit Doctorate from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne as well as a rigged DNAP successful thanks to a thesis: The Art of the wig during the mussolinian regime.

This is only a brief, very brief reconstruction of our relationship over the past seven years, for more information please contact us by any means you have.
