Biography
Born on November 18, 1998, in Masvingo, Zimbabwe, Courtney Chots is a multidisciplinary artist whose work celebrates African culture, identity, and the strength of women. The youngest of two sisters, she spent her early years in Botswana after moving there at the age of three. Her journey later took her to China, where she graduated from Wuhan University of Technology in 2020 with a degree in Civil Engineering.
Although trained in engineering, Courtney's creative spirit led her to pursue a full-time career in art — a path through which she explores themes of empowerment, heritage, and self-expression. Drawing inspiration from her travels and her African roots, her work often reflects a deep connection to the continent's history, symbolism, and resilience.
Now based between Zimbabwe and Botswana, Courtney continues to create pieces that speak to the beauty, power, and stories of African women — using her art as both a voice and a bridge between cultures.
