Biography
Olga Shanina was born in 1984, in Perm region. After graduated from The Ural State University, the IAHP in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA and got the Master degree of Psychology in 4 different directions. From 2021, has been attending art classes at Lev Khabarov art workshops, the arch-founder of the whole movement in Art “The Ural Underground”. That has defined her professional path, and resulted in a fruitful collaboration with a number of galleries, museums, private, and social projects from Europe and Russia. Gran-prix of the Sweden Art Festival and exhibitions in London Galeries has become an important step in the process of exploring and building her artistic style, its fundamental principles and philosophy.
As an artist. Olga Shanina works with a person’s perception of the ordinary routine through the prism of conscious and subconscious, evoking emotional images through monochromatic images, exploring their influences on memory print and colour perception.
Diving into the issues of the human nature fabric and mental processes —its aggression, its idealistic forms, virtual leaders and plural main-streamers —she explores the ecology of consciousness, the hygiene of the soul in the context of high-speed human consumption . The artist shares her view of the state and place of an individual in the age of extra ego and following the crowd thinking while slowly losing ourselves.
