Lo Da

France • 1981

Loïc David (LoDa), born in 1981 in Caen, Normandy, is a French contemporary artist whose work explores the human figure through painting and sculpture.

Biography

Loïc DAVID, LODA was born on December 31, 1981 in Caen, Normandy and grew up near the D-Day landing beaches, steeped in a Franco-American cultural heritage.

Loïc has always devoted much time to his main passion, observing life and all its details.

During his studies in Paris, in a preparatory school for the "grandes écoles d'arts", he practiced live model classes for long hours. He also had the opportunity to attend the Beaux Arts de Paris.

He marveled at the works of artists such as Eugène Delacroix or Gustave Courbet and this up to the deconstructivism of Picasso through the surrealism of Dali, the hyperrealism of Ron Mueck and the subversiveness of Banksy.

He finally chose animation to express himself. He is influenced by the classics of Hollywood cinema.

Now living in Brittany, Loïc devotes himself to portrait painting.
