I want my paintings to give the viewer a chance to pause and simply be with themselves.
Biography
Svetlana Saratova is a self-taught artist working with acrylic and mixed media, currently based in Germany. Born in Belarus and having lived for many years in Russia, she has been painting since childhood, developing her artistic language outside of formal academic structures. Her work explores the quiet poetry of nature — flowers, organic forms, seasonal rhythms, and subtle emotional states.
Saratova's paintings often incorporate texture, layered surfaces, and a restrained color palette. She creates a dialogue between abstraction and recognizable shapes, balancing decorative harmony with expressive spontaneity. Whether through delicate florals or abstract compositions, her art invites a sense of stillness, presence, and gentle introspection.
Inspired by the natural world, light, wind, and movement, she seeks not to imitate nature but to translate its emotional resonance. Her work offers a moment of quiet reflection — a visual space where the viewer can slow down and simply be.
Saratova also teaches drawing to children and adults and has participated in group exhibitions in Germany, Canada, Israel, and the United States. Her works are held in private collections worldwide, including in Germany, the USA, Canada, Australia, and Japan.
