Artistic preparation and professional training in the sphere of architecture have helped shape my technical knowledge, which I apply in the conception and realisation of my works. The intention is to interpret the idea as the construction of the idea. It is from here that Polato's way of proceeding in art starts. The formal aspect of her work is already striking for a hidden discipline, aesthetically persuasive; as is the monochrome of her works, proposed in intense colours, used in purity: green, yellow, red, blue and white, realised to articulate a visual programme. Polato uses wood, raw materials, twine, canvas, jute... The geometric shapes, which develop with a particular regularity on the work, are not the result of a proceeding in the dark, but the product of a semantic project... Liala Polato's works are true existential geometries.
