

Biography
Alvaro Petritoli is an Italian artist born in 1966.
He holds a BA of Fine Art from Central St. Martin, London since 2003 and was also trained in printing on clay and surface decoration at City Lit, London.
He also holds a BA of Italian Language and Literature from the University “La Sapienza", Rome, Italy, where he studied between 1986 and 1992, and
a Postgraduate Studentship in Historical Studies from the Italian Institute of Historical Studies, Naples, Italy.
In his works, colours and marks are often bleached off to represent a void where microcosms turn into macrocosms and vice versa. To create this network of miniatures and images, he employs a variety of approaches including paper laminating, alternative photographic processes, wax treatment alongside acrylics, oils and watercolor.
