Biography
Chris de Bode is a documentary photographer whose work primarily focuses on humanitarian issues, leading him to travel extensively around the world. In his photography, he consistently seeks new perspectives that can visually convey complex stories. Although the human presence is not always directly visible, people are always at the core of his work. The individuals and the situations derived from them radiate both strength and vulnerability, creating images that explore connection and encourage viewers to look beyond the stereotypes that so often limit our understanding of one another.
Chris works on assignment for humanitarian organizations, newspapers and magazines, while also developing independent projects. He has collaborated with organizations and publications including UNHCR, Aidsfonds, Save the Children, National Geographic, the British Red Cross, Stichting Vluchteling and . His work has been published worldwide and has received numerous awards, including World Press Photo, the Zilveren Camera, the Alfred Fried Award and multiple LensCulture Portrait Awards.
