Shadi Alzaqzouq

Shadi Alzaqzouq was born in 1981 in Al-Koufrah, Libya, from Palestinian parents. He settled in Gaza with his family at 17. He obtained a degree in classical music and his thirst for freedom, creativity and his vital need of painting and drawing will make him leave his country in 2007 after he obtained a residency in the Cité des Arts in Paris. His journey to the French capital will last forteen days. He was then able to discover the artpieces of his masters kept in the biggest Parisian museums.

After his residency, and in order to study art history and perfect his technique, he will apply several times to the concours des Beaux Arts of Paris but will eventually be accepted in philosophy in Paris 8 University. He has now lived in France for 10 years, has had children and now develops a strong and powerful painting, a genuine revolution in the political painting of Arab countries.
