Christophe Streichenberger was born in Paris in 1962. He was introduced to painting from an early age. At the end of his studies, he worked for ten years for the Banque de l'Image and since 1993 has devoted himself exclusively to painting. His painting combines two aesthetic approaches that one might suppose irreconcilable. One, conceptual, appropriates some of the codes of advertising or fashion photography, geometric figures, sidereal vacuum, cold colors; the other, expressive, organic, comes from a current of which Francis Bacon, among others, constitutes an accomplishment.
