To our lost bodies that we have difficulty grasping, disciplining, apprehending.
To our disappeared bodies, under the image that they should have had.
To our unusual, singular, bizarre, special, unique bodies.
From our bodies will emanate art, from art will emanate our hearts.
Soon, from June 6, the Réservoir Sète will offer its new exhibition: À corps perdus with a carnal and taboo-free character, the body will be subject or object and will reveal itself completely.
For this event, 12 artists will cross their gazes and their arts on the walls of the Réservoir during the 3 months of the summer. Jacques Barry, Benjamin Carbonne, Stéphane Carbonne, Clara Castagné, Sophie Dherbecourt, Sarah Guiraudon, Sylvie Fraissard & Karine Bergami, Ganaelle Maury, Isabelle Piron, Morgane Ryckelynck and Claudia Vialaret dedicate to us an interpretation of what has inspired Art since the dawn of time.
Our bodies will be lost, drowned in the immensity of representations, in the immense temporality of their interpretations. There will be neither beautiful nor ugly, there will be no big or big, just subjects who, through their pores, sweat their artistic irregularities.
It will be funny, of course, unexpected too, thrilling for sure.
In this summer of 2024, we had this idea, perhaps offbeat, to reveal to you what some will not dare to look at too much! But to hell with modesty, because if art is not there to surprise, what does it have left except the merit of existing.
Playing with codes, moving a few lines, sometimes deciding on the side of the naked truth, will be, for the time of a summer, the guarantors of an undisguised art.
An exhibition in which we will welcome you with all our hearts.
