David Manaud has established his base camp in Bordeaux.
He started skateboarding at 16 and photography around 25.
His passion for skateboarding led him to develop his second passion, photography, by capturing his skater friends on film. He cannot conceive of images without “living" subjects, whether humans or cats for that matter (his third passion).
His photographic trajectory developed at the same time as his friends became professional skaters, which naturally led him to sell his photos in specialized magazines around the world, and to collaborate with all the brands in skate culture.
He traveled all over the world making images; and he is recognized as one of the best skate photographers of his generation. By favoring aesthetics over technical performance his photos are tinged with a strong lifestyle identity, for him an image is always a collaboration between the subject and the photographer, and as he says himself: "I never feel as alive as behind my lens. »
