Dominique Jeu

I have always been drawn to drawing and painting and have always painted or created images at some point in my life. During my career, I've been lucky enough to be able to travel and photograph extensively in all four corners of the world, and I've been visually nourished by the culture, art and landscapes of the places where I've been, in Asia, America and Africa, a real daily education in the field.

At the same time, I continued to draw: gouaches, pastels, collages. Then, for several years, I took courses in art workshops: watercolour, plastic arts, academic drawing. I finally decided to devote myself fully to my passion for painting.

My current artistic approach is closer to abstract expressionism, with a focus on movement and colour. Movement is inseparable from the energy I want to convey in my paintings. And colours, because for me they have a major role to play. Whether they are soft or bright, light or dark, light or shrill, whether they sail together or dissonate, they are energy, rhythm and vibration. For me, it's about communicating in a universal language that doesn't require words, to convey emotions, express feelings and states of mind.
