Antoine Casals

Montpellier artist, Antoine Casals, formerly The Wizard, focuses his work on volume and perspective. Since 2004, he has pursued a rigorous artistic practice, both in terms of construction structures and the quality of the realization. The plans are digital, the pieces cut, painted and assembled by hand, allow us to maintain a close relationship with the material.

Assembling thousands of geometric figures in layers, these architectural compositions reconstruct an uncontrollable world. Abandoning the paper of which he had initially made his exclusive medium, Antoine Casals uses wood and composite materials such as dibond, mirror or PVC to "give a body" to his works. Their transparency and their reflection capture the trajectory of the light and that of the observer in an invitation to movement. As if waiting for an answer, each work suggests to the eye of the other to continue its accomplishment.
