Kuffjca Cozma was born in 1962 in Tiraspol, capital of Transnistria, a Russian enclave of the Republic of Moldova. Her mother is Romanian and her father Russian.
She lived in Romania until 16 years old then moved to Tiraspol to finish her studies in electronics. Because of the economic difficulties, her family forced her to work as a ticket clerk for the Moldovan State Railways. From the age of 18, she begins to draw on recycled paper which she immediately destroys.
Her life changed suddenly at 23, in 1985, because of a very serious accident at work: a collision between a train and a locomotive disfigures her face and reduces her to immobility. The trauma hurts her psychologically and Kuffjca will spend her whole life, supported by a disability retreat, in solitude, inside a small apartment in Tiraspol, from which she rarely leaves.
At the beginning, she did not attach great importance to her artistic work. It is only recently that she begins to realize her interest and no longer destroys it. His drawings are even deeper, filled with thick black lines and spirals of words, the meaning of which is unknown. The shapes are becoming more and more abstract.
