"No one can say what an artist is, only his work can reflect his sincerity. Art in itself means nothing."
Biography
William Himo, from a family of artists, discovered drawing at the age of 7 and explored oil painting from the age of 11. A passionate autodidact, he refined his art through inspiring workshops and constant personal reflection. A figurative and landscape painter, he excels as much in snowy street scenes as in seascapes, his favorite theme.
With a subtle palette of blues, grays and golds, Himo captures the majesty of the sea and the poetry of the shores. More than a simple representation, his works capture the atmosphere, light and serenity of wide open spaces. For him, painting is expressing the emotion of a moment and the intimate truth of nature. “I don’t sublimate anything, I observe,” he says with sincerity.
