Born in Afrine, Syria, in 1973, Hasko deals in his works with the elements of nature, animals and mythical figures from the cultures of Mesopotamia. His paintings are distinguished by multiple layers of stories, which present a dichotomy between childhood memories and present sensibilities. By exploring the theme of memory, the artist reveals hidden stories that unfold in the work of art. Hasko Hasko is unique as much for his art as for his name.
