Presentation

ALBER discovers graffiti at the age of 15 and considers himself first as a graffiti artist, the notion of art only appeared later. There was above all the pleasure of painting, the intoxication of freedom, the friends with whom he created, as a teenager, the KTM group and VIRTUAL TIME'S.

The passion remains intact and ALBER gradually breaks away from the codes of graffiti in search of a more personal expression. From graffiti he retains the fluidity of the gesture which traces lines and runs on the surface, but the lines and the shapes come together in a figurative representation. The application of color spray, tradition obliges, gives relief and light to these assemblages revealing a face of disproportionate proportions, from the front, in profile or three-quarter, the gaze blue and fixed under the heavy eyelids. Sideways glance like a lookout or a watchman.

This character becomes the signature of ALBER who, from graffiti artist becomes street artist preserving his freedom to paint where he wants, when he wants. The passage to the canvas is done little by little, resizing the subject without removing anything of its power. ALBER applies the same codes on canvas as on the walls and continues to combine the two supports.

ALBER is quickly spotted as a rising figure in French street art. In 2012 he was invited to paint the famous MUR Oberkampf in Paris, which brought him recognition and his first exhibitions.

In 2015, he produced a 4-meter painting for the Magrez Institute in Bordeaux as part of the Urban Expressions exhibition, alongside international pillars such as JonOne, Shepard Fairey (OBEY) or Jef Aerosol. The same year he was asked to produce a fresco as part of the Ocean Climax Festival in Bordeaux.

In 2016, he painted the MUR de Nancy; he is invited to the International Street Art Festival ST + ART

from Hyderabad in India where he was entrusted with the realization of an entire facade, a first!

In 2017, ALBER presented his first solo exhibition at the Galerie Barthelemy Bouscayrol in Biarritz, then at the Cox Gallery as well as at Loft 34 in Paris.

Recently in Orleans, soon in Sri Lanka, ALBER walks his enigmatic, colorful character, from wall to door, from canvas to palisade, he takes him across borders and cultures, arousing the same enthusiasm, and keeping his passion for an art which always gives him the same thrill between clandestinity and recognition.

In permanent evolution, the characters of ALBER gain in lightness and transmit expressions which do not cease to challenge. The freshness of his approach and the fluidity of his technique make ALBER a promising artist on the contemporary street art scene. His sense of geometry and color bring freshness to the discipline.
