dopamine2000

dopamine2000 is a French visual artist. She lives and works between Nantes and Paris. After studying classical literature in Paris, she moves to Nantes to enroll in the plastic arts course at the Beaux-Arts, where she graduated in 2016.

By alternatively creating and destroying her pictures, her work is focused on researching a new poetic and visual language combining photography, literature and music. She uses digital collage as her main technique to create an alternative reality, where images can fully co-exist with one another.

If we understand this technique as a way to speak without limits, it becomes a possibility for a second chance, a way to re-write a story. Separated from its context, mixed with others, destroyed, an image does not possess any memory, and is detached from any history, any expectation – by decontextualizing an image, we set it free.

Images and their derived narratives gravitate around the notions of violence, language, memory and inter-human relations, as they enter a post-modern universe influenced by the specific aesthetics of modern technologic tools. dopamine2000 is also a writer.
