Agathe Toman

Agathe Toman is a multidisciplinary painter, designer, photographer and contemporary French poet, of Austrian and Czech origin, born in 1989 living between Hossegor and Paris.

Following studies at the prestigious Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne and years spent as a stylist in couture houses and fashion brands, 6 years ago, Agathe felt the need to focus exclusively on artistic creation.

Black is the essence of his creative work. Paintings with pure pigments and acrylics with dizzying intensity, hypnotizing drawings with a Bic ballpoint pen are the writings she uses. An abstract language constitutive of his universe which today is also enriched by his poetry.

His poems, each partner of a work are gathered in several series: 'The Fluids' _ 'The Love' _ 'The Voids' _ 'The Thoughts' '_Time', '_The Blue' '_The _A'.

Agathe presented her first solo exhibition in Hossegor, and three years later her work was exhibited at the Art Paris Art Fair at the Grand Palais alongside LN Gallery as well as at the contemporary drawing fair Ddessin.

Today, Agathe Toman sells her works around the world and also works in collaboration with brands and artists.

Since December 2019, Agathe has been collaborating with the French art gallery Anne-Claire Simon based in Paris and also with the Pavot gallery, based in Bucharest, Romania.

The image of the artist is managed by the Parisian agency Futur.Mgmt.

Agathe is now known and recognized within the world of contemporary art as an extremely talented and promising emerging artist.

The famous auction house SOTHEBY'S Paris presented during its sale entitled "Contemporary Curated Paris", in July 2021 two works by the artist: The drawing _VOID #05 & the Black Monochrome _ANIMA #00. The two works were sold above the estimated price to a private collector, giving Agathe Toman an artist rating that is now official.

SOTHEBY'S is presenting a work by the artist for the second time, the drawing '-THINK #02', in March 2022 during the 'Living Contemporary' sale, which was again a success.

At the same time, Agathe is working on her book, the first collection of her poems: "_Silentium #01".

“The universe according to Agathe Toman is a complex expanding web of which each invisible thread contributes to its coherence while guaranteeing an infinite multiplicity. Each wire makes, when you brush it, hear a particular, inimitable, unprecedented harmonic. Creation tickles them in arpeggios, the encounter, the dream, a fleeting thought, an invented color, the skin that we caress, that we scratch, that we claw, ours, that of another, makes them resonate and compose perpetually new symphonies. You have to listen carefully to hear them, discover futures, identities, feelings that have no name and natures that precede them. A streaked black, a white voluptuousness, are the notes of the scales specific to each one, to each thing, to each moment, and which allow a thick, rich, and eternal whole. A synesthesia of the inaudible in invisible and the invisible in impalpable.

Always remaining painfully alert to hear the muffled calls beneath the surface and always trying tirelessly to answer them, to give them a voice on the web, that is the essence of a vocation. »
