Pascklin

Pascklin has been dedicated to painting and illustration for over 40 years. He lives and works in Alsace (France). All of his work is influenced by what touches on Alsace, is inspired by it and everything that it stimulates.

His subjects are timeless, the painted instant is the result of everything that precedes it, it is the fruit of these transmissions, these presences and these stories which are inscribed in this continuity.

He plays with the attitude, the atmosphere and the gestures of his characters. Alive, dancing, sometimes tender, in love or full of energy and good humor, they are immediately identifiable by their traditional Alsatian costume. He revisits this ancient folklore with contemporary writing and brings back to life an entire era that marked collective memory.

Pascklin works according to personal techniques and makes all of his oil colors himself. His vast palette of pigments allows him to obtain infinite mixtures of great transparency that he applies in fine glazes in order to capture the light. White and black, extreme and recurring values, tell the story of Alsace, with its good or dark periods, their recurrence giving rhythm to the paintings.

Recognized painter and illustrator, his techniques are multiple, oil painting, drawing, engraving, pastel, collages, inks, glass. He exhibits mainly in Alsace, but fans of his work are scattered over all continents.
