Presentation

Mathilde Le Mancq's ceramics evolve around the image. She paints the faces of men and women inspired by photographs or films that she mixes with her own characters and motifs.

This patchwork weft is assembled like a comic strip, without narration, punctuated by phrases that serve as clues or secret thoughts to these often mismatched beings.

Each piece is a whole which can also be assessed box by box. The artist invites the observer to project himself into his universe and let his imagination run wild.

Mathilde Le Mancq studied at the Ecole du Louvre, and the Higher Institute of Applied Arts, then she trained in ceramics with various artists, and at the Royal Danish School of Design. She has been exhibiting since 2016.
