"Pavlina Pavlides is the daughter of Sir Pavlos Pavlides, knighted by Queen Elizabeth II as Sir in 1955 when Cyprus Island was still under British colonial rule. The British Museum "purchased" or received Cypriot archeological art, 1250BC-1050BC, bronze from Paul Georges Pavlides. The family of Pavlina Pavlides family had to suffer all the plagues of Cyprus. The English invasion, followed by the anti-colonial struggle, until Cyprus became independent in 1960, but in 1974, after the Turkish invasion and its aftermath of a divided Cyprus which remains the case in the present day, she left Cyprus forever, as well as Greece, since the Greek military ruled Greece from 1967 to 1974.
