Veronica SCHMITT

French artist Veronica Schmitt became a fine art painter shortly after moving to the United States. The exploration of a new world for her as well as the discovery of Californian impressionist artists had a significant impact on her work. She paints vivid and colorful snapshots of life, inviting the viewer to speculate on the history depicted and suggesting the incredible diversity of our world.

Her work usually consists of figures and cityscapes, but whatever subject or genre she chooses, light is always the strongest element in her paintings. His visual approach reveals this research by exploring its interaction with shadow or reflections in relation to vibrant color. She works with a spontaneous, under-bored hand, applying brushstrokes of paint to a bright orange canvas, leaving the filter under-painted throughout the scene and giving the finished piece a distinctive glow.

A former graphic designer, Veronica obtained her master's degree in arts at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts, in France. She is an award-winning recognized artist, member of the California Art Club and the National Society of Painters in Acrylic. His work has been selected for several solo shows, received numerous awards and has been published in several books and magazines in France and the United States, including The Artist Magazine and Southwest Art.
