Andrew Case

Andrew Case is a visual artist from Philadelphia that creates artwork depicted from feelings built on raw emotion. Case's works are the intricate, abstract details of life told in color. The physical act of painting is only half the process as the artist customizes every color that he uses that originate through an energy fueled by music playing while in the studio. Case has discovered that the concept of painting throughout the exploration of music drives the artist's expressionism methods toward the combination of "slow and studied" application and "fast and free of precise thought" that create his final images.

Case's work explores the relationship between color and emotion to tell the story of a moment. His intricate, stylized process is led through his fascination of the way music influences a depth of memories and, unequivocally, brings thoughts back to life producing a new-found moment of new reality built upon a memory already lived. The creations of the artist are the sophisticated, abstract details of life told in color.

His works that explore and expose a spatial reality within his abstract images that are indistinguishable as the viewer becomes lost in the complexities of the color as the painting in turn fuses self-reflection and the hidden meaning of the artist.  

What appears to be a simple, elegant, geometric abstraction is actually a complex composition based upon the connection to the parallels of color and its absence creating a void expression of time passing or a moment of thought physically articulated by color and shape.  His paintings deconstruct personal memories and recombine a storyline in ways that challenge traditional interpretations.
