When black is light... Paints for unique interiors...
Biography
Trained at the Angers School of Fine Arts and in design, fashion, and interior architecture schools, I have always been a creative force, guided by a life path that has allowed me to explore inspiring worlds. Initially a stylist, I designed and developed my own high-end clothing line for women and children for 10 years. From this period, I retain a deep appreciation for the feel and texture of fabrics.
Then, interior design and decoration confirmed my appetite for raw materials and the handling of tools.
All these points converge towards pictorial creation, my first love, which I reveal today.
One recurring element in my paintings is the background, always textured, aged... which gives it an aspect of authenticity, of lived-in life.
I don't like smooth surfaces; I get a feeling of emptiness, of a lack of depth.
My guiding principle is BLACK!
Without black, my work doesn't feel finished. Black represents strength and personality. It enhances every color, bringing light to them.
Depending on my themes, I juggle with different materials, acrylic, plaster, ink, stucco, varnishes, fabric, and many others that will inspire me and one day join my work.
I like curves, feminine, soft, enveloping, you can find them in my architectural projects and in my works.
It's a kind of signature, more or less pronounced depending on the paintings, but you can always make out circles, which are very often made in the last layer of my work.
It's an intimate, organic work, blending curves, traces of life, and sensuality. It also has a primitive, almost tribal side at times; I like this raw, intuitive aspect.
What emerges from my work is an impression of power, strength, and density.
A duality between materials, shadows and light, lines and circles.
Each artwork is unique, with its certificate of authenticity and signature on the back.
Because you are unique, I also offer custom-made artwork based on a painting you like. We'll work together to develop the project, and I'll adapt the artwork in terms of color, size, etc., according to your wishes.
Permanent exhibition at 39 rue des Épinettes 75017 Paris, by appointment.
