“—My subject is the human figure as the heart of the relationships between intelligence, emotion, and the body. Everything relates me to the human. Everything that exists is subject to the human trace, the trace of our gaze. The perspective of the gaze is the individual's relationship to the body and the world; the gaze is the world.

I am captivated by the feminine, its power and its mystery; if I could even touch on the feminine I would be as happy as a child.

In this series "Woman on Wood," I work with charcoal, chalk, and acrylic in monochrome on wood. I play with the transparency of the medium and the texture of the support to capture feminine souls.

My art is figurative in essence and contemporary in its intention. Another of my questions is to find how to practice the Figure after Francis Bacon.
