Biography
Landry Clément: Woodcarver - Leaf gilder A jeweler by training, Landry Clément worked for more than 22 years in the luxury sector. Following an accident at work, the artist had to retrain and to do so undertook a training course as a woodcarver and a gilder at the ESEA (Ecole Supérieur Ebénisterie d'Avignon). Since June 2015, Landry Clément's workshop has been installed in one of the most beautiful villages in Provence in the historic center of Pernes Les Fontaines.
Landry Clément's works are very contemporary, with harmonious shapes and sculpted surfaces. “I really like working with oak and chestnut because I don't stain the woods, I oxidize them, and it is these two species that have the best rendering" Landry Clément. Gold is also a very important material in the artist's work; the small golden touches on his works highlight the unique qualities of wood.
Landry Clément received the title of Master Artisan d'Art in 2024, the highest distinction for the crafts, for his exceptional know-how and the quality of his work.
