Biography
Liroy is a self-taught artist born on May 9, 1974 in Paris to a father from Martinique and an Armenian mother. From an early age Liroy discovered a sensitivity for the artistic world. It was when he entered working life at the end of the 90s as a bartender that he experimented with his creativity by making cocktails with countless flavors.
In the 2000s, he created his own ready-to-wear brand with graphic prints. Subsequently a photographer, he produced images and productions for many artists. Marked by the release of the documentary “The Radiant Child" (Jean Michel Basquiat), he discovered an attraction to the art of painting. But it was only later, in 2018, when he moved to Germany that he finally dared to express himself with acrylic following the meeting of an artist who opened the doors of her studio to him.
From then on, Liroy found in painting an alternative means of expression through which he suggests a positive vision of the world, thus evoking notions of peace, love and communion in all relationships. On his return to France in 2020, Liroy will take advantage of confinement to assert himself in his art.
Liroy is a contemporary artist who above all likes to paint scenes of life and the memories associated with it. His colorful, double-faced characters, distinguished by the absence of features, invite us to share often playful moments and deliver a narrative of which the public has the freedom to be the author.
