Biography

Pellarose is a multifaceted artist whose artistic journey began at a young age. Originally from Lyon, France, he quickly dove into the world of photography.
Captivated by the bold lines and vibrant colors of urban architecture, he developed a unique artistic sensibility, where geometric shapes and plays of light take center stage.
It was at the age of 13 that Pellarose captured Le Corbusier's chapel with his camera, marking the beginning of an artistic journey that would lead him to explore the boundaries of urban art.
His interest in strong geometric shapes and expressive colors guided him to artists such as Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, whose influence would be felt in his own work.
Alongside his career as a photographer, Pellarose made two short films, "Martin" and "Depths and Mysteries", which won special awards at the Berlin, Moscow and Los Angeles festivals. His artistic talent also extends to music, where he directed the Conservatoire de Guiana in South America for 8 years. But it is in photography and painting that Pellarose fully expresses his singular artistic vision.
His creative process is just as fascinating as his works themselves. Using his iPhone as his main tool, he captures urban scenes with remarkable spontaneity and discretion. But what truly distinguishes his work is his post-production phase.
Pellarose develops unique processing techniques, often pushed to the threshold of maximum saturation, to create works of striking visual intensity.
In his series "Celebrities", Pellarose explores another facet of his art by deconstructing the image of popular culture icons. Inspired by characters such as Victor Hugo's Gavroche, he seeks to reveal the truth hidden behind appearances. Kate Moss, the fashion icon, becomes for him much more than a simple glamorous figure. Through his portraits, he explores the contradictions and vulnerabilities of this iconic figure, showing her in a new light, far from the usual clichés.
Ultimately, Pellarose's work is a quest for truth and beauty in a complex and often superficial world. Through his striking images, he invites us to question our perceptions and discover the hidden richness in every detail of our daily reality.
