Biography

13.7.1898 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, 21.8.1952 in Yverdon, prot., De Fenin-Vilars-Saules. Son of Frédéric-Louis, plasterer trader. Lina Kehrer.

Art school of La Chaux-de-Fonds (1914-1916), fine arts of Geneva (1916-1920). Painter of figures and still lifes, landscape painter, author of monumental decorations and lithographer, D. teaches at the Art School of La Chaux-de-Fonds.


His works, influenced by Post-Impressionist painting in the 1930s, are then marked by a sudden conversion to post-Cubism. The murals he painted in the halls of Neuchâtel (1938) and La Chaux-de-Fonds (1946-1952) stations bear witness to these two poles.
