Fabienne Dalgarno

I've been painting with a knife for about ten years. I used to paint pastels and oils with a brush before turning to this technique. The knife lets me play with textures, paint variations in colour and add dynamism to my creations.

Nature is at the heart of my work. It soothes me. I love painting its undergrowth and its flowers. Its different atmospheres are a huge source of inspiration. My challenge in 2024: to expand my universe by reducing the size of my canvases, and give myself the opportunity to create, on the same theme, a mosaic of paintings that complement and enhance each other. I can capture the depths of a landscape, the light and shade of a narrow path, the delicacy of a flower in small formats, refining my palette knife technique while retaining the palette of colours that characterise me.

I hope to have succeeded in conveying to you in this format all the emotions I feel when I paint: a walk in nature where tranquillity and serenity, in a breath, take us far away from everything.
