Art has always been part of the Olympic landscape, combining the culture of the mind with that of the body. For decades, dance, poetry, music and sculpture have won medals alongside the greatest sporting disciplines.
The Games are constantly renewing themselves, welcoming new events and showcasing modern practices. For this 2024 edition, which takes place in the heart of the French capital and across the country, urban culture invites itself onto the steps of the Olympic podium. Breaking, climbing, skateboarding and surfing will all be showcased. These practices, as physical as they are visual, are imbued with a culture of their own, which they will be showcasing to the world.
It's in this context of the Olympic Games' openness to all publics that we propose, once again, to combine art and sport. This edition of Spraying Board x Michelin showcases the talents of 6 painters, graffiti artists, street-artists, illustrators and textile artists, concentrated on 4 skateboard boards. Art and street sports take center stage at Michelin's Médiathèque-Ludothèque, highlighting the Olympic spirit that's taking hold of us from this summer until October 26.
Produced by The Daily Board, in close collaboration with the CSE Michelin, the exhibition features the work of 6 French artists. A total of 24 unique plates, created especially for the occasion, are on display.
