David Cumps is as much a draftsman as he is a painter, but all the mediums he works with are always employed to a joyful and lively result.
Biography
David Cumps is a Belgian artist, born on 20th August, 1968 in Brussels. David Cumps isn't a pedantic artist: he hardly took any drawing lessons and spent little time at the academy, but quickly decided to teach himself. He is known as DUC, as he's sincerely optimistic. DUC is both a designer and a painter, and all his mediums always give a joyful and lively result.
Duc begins by drawing on a paper with a pencil before inking and scanning, then he digitally colors his drawing. In order to obtain a 3D drawing, the work is passed onto acrylic then cut and stuck on canvas. A proud representative of "Pop kitsch", David Cumps adds his unique touch to already iconic personalities from Mona Lisa to Superman, Star Wars heroes and Jeff Koons's works. Humor and irony are always at the heart of his creations. Works of David Cump are regularly exhibited in Paris.
