Juarez Machado

Juarez Machado was born in 1941 in the city of Joinville, in the state of Santa Catarina in Brazil. He undertook studies at the Art School of the city of Curitiba in the state of Paranà, also actively participating in his artistic current.

In 1966 he settled in Rio de Janeiro, intensifying his activities. In addition to painting, he also experimented with illustration, set design, sculpture, drawing and engraving.

He has received numerous awards in Brazilian galleries and other international awards. Juarez Machado has lived in Paris since 1986 and has repeatedly exhibited his works in many cities in Europe and the United States.

The human figure, the women, and his characters tell life, love stories, projecting us into a fantasy world, with references to Brazilian tradition and European influences.
