Biography

Marieke, painter and sculptor, affiliated with the Maison des Artistes, is based in a small mountain village, in Isère. After 30 years of painting, in 1979: young painting fair, Paris, in 1982: 1st prize of the General Council of Seine Saint Denis, this artist creates sculptures and reliefs. The common thread of her work is inscribed in memory, which, protected from oblivion, leaves its traces like surviving moments of the past, to approach secret territories.

The reliefs are made using a particular technique in clay modified by adding natural components to make it resistant without firing; a patina accentuates the relief and the expressiveness of the forms.

All materials are geo and bio-based.
