Edith Heim

My name is Edith Heim, I live in Strasbourg.I have been painting for about twenty-five years. I have had several exhibitions in Alsace (Strasbourg, Erstein, Obernai, Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines) in Villeurbanne as well as in Germany (Frankfurt, Gengenbach) and in Switzerland (Lausanne).

I am a member of the associations “Les Arts Plastiques de Strasbourg" and “Art'ist" (Franco-German association). I was also the winner of the competition organized by the Alsatian press (Les Dernieres Nouvelles d'Alsace) in 2006.

I use various techniques and materials, mainly acrylic but also materials such as wood, fabric, tissue, paper, plaster, resin, glass, sand... I try to translate in an abstract way my vision of nature, its beauty and its power through the representation of the four elements (earth, water, air, fire). So, in the “Marines" (Sea) and “Lagons"(Lagoons) series I wanted to represent the sea and its shades of blue, its transparency, its movement. In the “Laves" (Lava) series, through reds and blacks, the force of molten flows. In the “Deserts" series, the dunes under the heat of the sun. In the “Communications" series my intention was to convey a message of tolerance and fraternity.
