Philippe Leveau, born in 1960, is a visual photographer. His conceptual photographs depict the number Pi, which is paradoxical in that it represents a circle that is finite yet has an infinite number of decimal places. The photographs are digital compositions of various shapes, juxtaposed vertical bars or concentric circles, in ten different colours, each assigned to one of the decimal places of the number Pi (3,1415926535897932384626...)
Blurred photographs of flowers, leaves, grasses, skies, clouds, glaciers... make up his colour palette. The photographic composition is then printed in traditional silver, laminated onto Plexiglas.
