Biography

A faithful illustrator of Éric Corbeyran, he also leads a career as a complete author with his series Tony Corso after having produced Histoires d'en ville, the complete edition of which has just been released in small format by Glénat. Originally from Lyon, Olivier Berlion attended the Émile Cohl school there and obtained a DEUG in culture and communication. After several years of work in illustration and advertising, he met Éric Corbeyran at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in 1992. He began a collaboration, which continues to this day, with the series Le Cadet des Soupetard (10 volumes from 1994 to 2004), then Lie-de-vin (a one-shot in the Long Courrier collection - 1999) at Dargaud, Sales mioches (8 volumes from 1997 to 2005) at Casterman, Rosangella (one-shot in 2007) and Garrigue (diptych in 2008) again at Dargaud. He produced an album Cœur tam-tam with Tonino Benacquista at Dargaud in 2003. At the same time, Olivier Berlion writes his own stories and says he has enough in stock for the next ten years. From 2000 to 2002, he began as a complete author of the screenplay in colors with the triptych Histoires d'en ville published by Glénat, which has just released a complete edition as part of the publishing house's 40th anniversary collection. He is finishing the next episode of Tony Corso. Volume 5, Vendetta, of the series will be released in 2009 at the same time as a complete edition in small format and soft cover of the first 4 episodes. Based near Uzès in the Gard, Olivier Berlion combines very controlled realistic graphics and fine, well-constructed plots.
