Biography
Born in Paris, the French painter Paul Lecomte, uncle of Paul Emile Lecomte, learned painting in the studio of the painter Emile Lambinet. He exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon from 1880 to 1912, where his work was recognized on several occasions: an honorable mention in 1882, a third-class medal in 1888, and a second-class medal in 1895. He also presented his works at the Universal Expositions of 1889 and 1900 in Paris, where he received an honorable mention and a silver medal. He regularly stayed in Provence, Brittany, and Normandy. He was appointed official painter of the Navy in 1921. He died in Paris on September 19, 1950, and was buried in the same city at the Montrouge Cemetery on September 22, 1950.
