Biography
Nadel was born in 1977 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, but spent a lot of her life in Tahiti. The Polynesian island was the spark that awoke this self-taught artist’s calling. She fell in love with the culture, the landscapes, the people and mostly the colours of Tahiti! Coming back to the French mainland in 2010, colour becomes the artist’s remedy against the ambient greyness: painting becomes necessary! Nadel begins to express this creative need in sketchbooks, then moves on to canvasses. Her pieces show a graphical, urban and naïve style. Spray-paint and acrylic markers are the tools she uses to play with superposition and repetition, intermixing graffiti and abstract expressionism. Everything is linked and mixed, but never meet. On canvas, unique worlds appear, sometimes inhabited by many imaginary characters.
