Astro

Astro is a French street artist, who was born in 1981. A self-taught artist, he did his first graffiti in 2000 in the suburbs of Paris.

When he was starting his artistic career, Astro had a preference for lettering and for the "wildstyle", a very complex graffiti style where the letters are entangled. He then turned towards a more abstract expression that combined curves, geometry and calligraphy. He gets inspired by artists such as Hartung, Vasarely and Mucha, Astro developed in a world where he defines the outlines. With his technique, his game of shadows, and his sense of perspective, Astro creates pieces where optical illusion is always part of it, real contemporary optical illusions. A work that he does as good in walls as in a canvas, as well as on strecht film (cellophane), thanks to a new technique called "CelloGraff" which he created in 2006 with artist Kanos.

The artist's work is present in numerous international festivals, and he is part of the group CBS, originally from Los Angeles.
