Biography

Oliver Räke left his first traces in Düsseldorf's urban space at the beginning of the 80s with his pseudonym MAGIC. He quickly made contact with other pioneers of the scene such as Loomit and HownNosm. In the 80s and 90s, he shaped the graffiti landscape in Germany and neighbouring countries with them. Since then, he has been playing with the intersection of the urban environment and white cube. Oliver Räke, who enjoys legendary status in the international graffiti scene, today combines tagging with ideas from modern graphics and concepts of contemporary art and is one of the early representatives of 'post-graffiti'.
