Soichi Hasegawa

Biography

Shoichi Hasegawa is a mixed media painter, printmaker, designer. Pupil at the Kokuga Institute in Tokyo and initiated into printmaking in Stanley William Hayter's Atelier 17 in Paris, where he arrived in 1961.

He participated in numerous group exhibitions, especially for printmaking: 1962 Salon de la Jeune Peinture in Paris, 1963, 1964 Salon des Réalités Nouvelles in Paris, 1963, 1965, 1967 Biennale Internationale de Gravure in Ljubljana, since 1963 Salon de la Jeune Contemporary Engraving in Paris, 1966 International Biennial of Engraving in Krakow; in 1968 he obtained the First Prize for Engraving at the International Exhibition in Como, he then obtained numerous other prizes all over the world.
