Coia Ibañez

Born in 1962, Coia Ibañez is a Spanish artist. She lives and works in Reus.

Coia Ibañez, before anything else is the owner of a music school. This activity which is located right next to her workshop, allowed her to begin an artistic career during the 90's. Since then, her pictorial style has evolved a lot. Today, Coia Ibañez does oil painting and likes to add depth through embossing. Her desire give a complex side to the visual aspect is surely a result for her passion in sculpture. The artist is convinced that there are no barriers between arts, therefore this aspect in her paintings can boost the students of her school.

She doesn't restrict herself to just painting but also creates clothes and mostly scarfs. After years of research and experimenting, she has her own creation process. Her artistic style stands out through dynamic composition, where serpentine lines, circles and repeated patterns inter-wine. The artist loves bright colors. For her creations, Coia Ibáñez uses her travels to China, Egypt or even U.S.A as an inspiration.
